Research Interest:

The main focus of our research group is discovering new modes of activation of important organic functional groups and exploring their potential in triggering interesting classes of reactions which will not be readily accessible by the existing modes. Our group also engaged in the rational design of selective asymmetric catalysts to employ in the enantioselective catalytic versions of these newly discovered reactions. Innovations emerging from these research efforts will be employed in the development of new synthetic methods, total synthesis of complex natural products and pharmaceuticals.
